essay N.3
Christmas-commercial date or a
religious practice?
Christmas is an annual festival
commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ, observed most commonly on December 25 as
a religious and cultural celebration among billions of people around the world.
Christmas Day is a public holiday in
many of the world's nations, is celebrated religiously by most Christians, as well as culturally by
many non-Christians, and forms an integral part of the holiday season.
For many people, Christmas is a time
of sorrow. They don't have the extra money to buy presents for their children,
family, and friends. Many are saddened at Christmastime when they think of
their loved ones who will not be able to come home for various reasons. Turkey
dinners may be only a wish and not a reality for some.
Besides, many people may think that
the spiritual must start with recognizing reality. Life requires reason,
selfishness, capitalism; that is what Christmas should celebrate and really,
underneath all the pretense, that is what it does celebrate. And some people is
time to take the Christ out of Christmas, and turn the holiday into an
egoistic, pro-reason, commercial celebration.
At this time of the year people care
about spending time with their family and being grateful, but some people that doesn’t
celebrate this festival and most of them are not Christians, take advantage of
this season and they take it as a business trying to move their business
forward.
Some families for which this is a
very important date also take advantage and they teach their children what is
the real motive for which Christmas is celebrated and how it should be
celebrated.
while other families teach their
children how companies and products move at this time of the year.
Christmas is commercial for some
people and a religious practice for other people. We can truly be happy at
Christmas, No matter what may be happening.
